Anky The book ‘Anky, the ambition, determination and talent of Anky van Grunsven’ is written by Claartje van Andel in 1994. It was published in Dutch immediately after Anky van Grunsven did win her first big international achievement: the World Equestrian Games in The Hague, the Netherlands, mounting Bonfire.
The book was a bestseller in The Netherlands, within very short time there were five reprints produced.
The book reads like a novel, told by 12 year old schoolgirl Anky that fell in love with a longlegged guy: her first horse Prisco. The OG in Seoul with Prisco, the purchase of Bonfire, the ups and downs in the training of this talented but spooky horse that was as timid as a hare, the influence of her most important trainer, her father, the dedication to her horses, Anky considers it all in this easy reading book.
In 1995, short before the World Cup Final in Los Angeles, the English translation was ready.
This English edition is still available. It is offered now for €18,15; shipping not included.
