General news WEG 2006: New footing huge challenge for Agterberg
The CHIO Aachen 2005 reached a new attendance record: a total of 336.300 spectators visited the tournament over the seven days. On the final Sunday alone, 52.000 horse enthusiasts poured into the Soers. Only one worry was left after the wonderful tournament: the footing. The Dutch company Agterberg BV from Utrecht finds a new challenge now in a complete renovation of the footing to have the very best conditions for both the CHIO Aachen 2006 in May and the WEG at the end of August. “The biggest challenge ever, as the special footing on grass is dependent of the weather conditions this autumn and the following spring. And the eyes of the world will witness our results… Our company however is very experienced in sports fields. We rely on our skills and we are happy the Aachen Laurensberger Verein does the same”, Ton Agterberg states.
Agterberg also renewed the fotting of the Deutsche Bank Dressage Stadium three years ago. The new grass footing in the Soers will be the stage for the dressage of the WEG 2006 as well.
