FACT
The history of Swedish stallion Rasputin
Some horses really travel around the world to show their talents. So in the past White Foot has been showed internationally by Michael Klimke, Kir Royal has been showed by Anky van Grunsven. The story of Rasputin goes from Sweden to Australia to Great-Britain to Japan.
In 1998 Kyra Kyrklund invited dressage rider Emma Youngman (32) to make the trip to Sweden to look at a young black stallion that was owned and ridden by one of her pupils, the later Swedish national champion Pernille Andre. Rasputin (born 1992) had won the 1997 and 1998 Swedish Young Horse Championships - known as the Breeders' Trophy. For Emma, their meeting was love at first sight, and Rasputin arrived in December 1998 in Australia. Highlights with the black Rasputin were Master Classes in Australia the next year with European riders Michael Klimke and Kyra Kyrklund.
In 2003 Emma lived in Germany for a while to try to qualify for the OG in Athens. She competed in Hickstead at the open Europeans on Rasputin and then teamtrainer of the Japanse British Ferdi Eilberg recognized the talents of the horse for one of his pupils, Japanese Mieko Yagi (55).
